Closing Schools in Ontario

Deciding which schools should stay open, and which schools should close is a difficult one.

Through a process called “accommodation reviews”, boards will decide which schools to keep open, which schools to close, which schools need additions, or where new schools are needed.

What is the Ontario College of Teachers?

The Ontario College of Teachers is responsible for regulating the teaching profession in Ontario.  The College establishes the requirements for a teaching certificate, sets the standards for teacher training programs, maintains a register of qualified teachers (accessible on their website), and investigates complaints against teachers.  The College has an excellent website with lots of useful information for parents.
