Hold the date: November 13th Mark Saturday November 13, 2010 on your calendar now! We're very excited that Stuart Shanker will be joining us this year. He is a parent, author, professor and researcher. In his work, he uses the latest knowledge about the brain to improve the lives of struggling children. Gaining a deeper understanding of how the brain works in fact helps all kids, parents and teachers. Listen to him on CBC Ideas now! More information is coming soon. We're busy booking speakers and organizing workshops. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Attendees listened to timely and interesting discussions about education issues. And they participated in practical workshops – on topics such as working with principals or how to acquire the new parent involvement funds – that produced useful strategies and helpful tips. The conference also provided an opportunity to make contact with other parents sharing similar concerns.
Special thanks to the Ministry of Education for providing grants to subsidize travel and accomodation costs to help many parents attend.
